Atul Katyal

Dr. Katyal graduated from Gwalior Medical College in India in 1994 before moving to the US. He then went on to do his Internal Medicine residency followed by a post-doctoral fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Missouri, Columbia. He served as an Assistant professor of Medicine at the University of Missouri before moving to this area in 2004. Since then he has been rendering services to patients in the Southern Maryland area.

Dr. Katyal has been nominated “Top Nephrologist” in the state of Maryland on multiple occasions. He is currently the medical director for multiple dialysis units in Prince George’s county. Dr. Katyal specializes in caring for patients on home dialysis including peritoneal dialysis. He had been involved in multiple publications on peritoneal dialysis and was an invited speaker at international conferences. Dr. Katyal is vastly experienced and his expertise in taking care of complex patients with uncontrolled hypertension, acute glomerulonephritis, acute kidney injury, and post kidney transplant patients makes him an asset to our practice.

During his free time, Dr. Katyal enjoys listening to classical music, playing cricket, badminton, and tennis. He also enjoys cooking and eating delicious foods!
